Legalities

As an independent celebrant I am not able to carry out the legal part of your marriage. In order to have the marriage legally recognised you will need to have a short service conducted at your local registrar's office. This lasts approximately 20 minutes, during which you make the legal declarations and sign the register. The cost for this varies according to the local authority involved, but is in the region of £125.00**. There is no requirement to get dressed up or to even exchange vows or rings at the registrars office. These special moments can be incorporated into the ceremony that we create and therefore shared with your loved ones.

Registrars are also able to perform the legalities outwith the registry office*** and I am happy to work with the registrar if you would prefer for everything to take place at the same time and location.

**This fee is paid directly to the registrar and is in addition to the fee payable to your celebrant.

***Please be aware that the registrar may charge an additional cost for this
